Angling at the top of Denmark
Angling is therapy for the soul. You get out into nature and can really relax.
At the same time, it is exciting. The adrenaline pumps when you have caught something on the hook, and the satisfaction can be great when the catch has landed.
The top of Denmark offers rich opportunities for angling. Here there is a large selection of salt and fresh water areas, fjords, streams, lakes and seas. The various waters offer the opportunity to catch, among other things, cod, pike, sea trout, salmon, rainbow trout, mackerel, flounder and many more.

Pier fishing or Sea fishing from a boat
Mole fishing
In Skagen, Aalbæk and Hirtshals you can fish from the pier. From Vestre mole in Skagen you can catch flatfish and cod all year round.
In Hirtshals you can fish for flatfish, cod as well as mackerel and hornfish in season (from St. Hans to September) and from the pier in Aalbæk you can catch eels and flatfish.
Sea fishing from a boat
If you want to go out on the open sea with other happy fishermen, Hirtshals offers many different options.
Put & Take
The area offers several Put & Take lakes:
Offers 2 lakes where there are reading sheds, toilets, table and benches and a cleaning room. Rainbow trout can be caught here.
In a scenic area just outside Tversted lies the lake of 10.000 m2 with approx. 1000 meters of lake width.
The lake is 14.000 m2 and is located in natural surroundings. Fish in the size 1-8 kg are released here. every Thursday.
The lake is 22.000 m2 and the area offers family-friendly conditions. Trout from 1-7 kg are released. The children's lake is always stocked with trout from 450 grams to 1 kg. There are reading sheds, tables and benches around the lakes.

Remember that fishermen between the ages of 18 and 65 must be in possession of a fishing licence. The fish sign can be ordered from home or bought in the local tourist offices.
Live well in your own holiday home
Of course, you have your fishing gear with you. And there must be room for that.
When you live at Skagen Strand holiday center you get a fully equipped holiday home of 72 square meters, with beds for max. 5 or 7 people.
This means that there is plenty of opportunity to prepare the most wonderful fish dishes when you return with the day's catch. You can find inspiration here.

- If you would rather eat in your holiday home or on your own private terrace, you can order Take Away from the restaurant. Easy and convenient.
- You can also cook yourself. The holiday homes have a well-equipped kitchen, so you won't lack for anything.
- We also have a mini shop and every morning we bake rolls and bread, which you can order in advance. You can also choose a ready-made breakfast menu. Your order will be ready at the reception from 08.00
