Both north and south of Strandby Harbor there are child-friendly white sandy beaches with dunes.

The beach on the north side has the blue flag. There is access directly from the harbor, and from Nørrevej, where there is good parking. At the descent from Nørrevej there are also toilets and a long ramp that allows access to the beach with strollers and wheelchairs.

In clear weather you can see the beach stretching all the way to Skagen, and there is also a view of the archipelago "Hirsholmene", which is a wintering and breeding site for several species of birds. It is possible to get there by mail boat from Frederikshavn.

If you continue about 1 km north along the beach, you will come to Rugholm Å, which flows into the Kattegat. Here is a stone reef, where from the 1920s to the 1940s a number of archaeological finds were found, which at the time were considered to be from an Iron Age sacrificial site. The stone reef also offers good opportunities for sea trout fishing in season.

At the beach south of Strandby lies a salt meadow, and Elling Å also runs nearby. There is a rich birdlife here, which can be observed from a birdwatching tower.
