VisitThe Swedish Seamen's Church in Skagen dates from 1925.
In the first half of this century, Skagen Harbor was widely used by Swedish fishermen, and the church was built so that the fishermen could have a place to stay when they were away from their homeland.
Upstairs in the church is the beautiful, simple church hall and downstairs is the library and coffee room.
The Swedish Seamen's Church has been a natural gathering place for Swedish fishermen, but also for many tourists from Sweden and other countries, as well as the local Skagway residents. A lot of coffee has been drunk here and many "kanelbullar" (canel buns) have been eaten.
In December, the Swedish Seamen's Church also holds the Swedish Christmas traditions "Christmas Bazaar" and "Luciadag" and both events are very well attended.
During the opening period (mid-June-end of September) there is a church service every Sunday at 11.00:XNUMX AM.
Since 2010, The Swedish Seamen's Church has been owned by the "Stiftelsen för kyrliga Byggnader för Västkustfiskare i Utlandet".
