Bangsbo Deer Park
Address:
Queen Margrethe's Road 39900 Fredrikshavn
Distance: 26,78 Km
One of the greatest experiences is the deer, and the sight of them and their lives all year round. In the spring when the doe and hinds have their calves and in the autumn when the large deer roar and the rut begins. In addition to the deer, the forest is also a habitat for many bird species, where in particular the Green Woodpecker can be seen most of the year, and the Kingfisher along Bangsbo Å. By Åèn you can see water bats in the summer at dusk and in open places you can see both the pygmy bat and Denmark's largest bat, the brown bat.
You can also come and experience the flora, as it is varied, especially in the meadow along Bangsbo Å. In the forest, in addition to the enormous oak and beech trees, there are also ash, linden, birch, alder, hazel and elder, but it is also possible to come across incredibly large and beautiful noble firs, some of which are close to 50 meters high, planted in the late 1800th century.
In Dyrehaven there is a beautifully situated natural playground with a packed lunch hut, where you can sit and enjoy your packed lunch in the idyllic surroundings.
In addition, in the hilly terrain, you can get a feel for the ice age melts more than 10.000 years ago, with the deep gorges and high hills.
