Playground at Kulturhus Kappelborg
The adventure playground at Kulturhus Kappelborg, right in the middle of town, is designed in keeping with Skagen's colors and location by the sea, as the rubber drop surface is shaped like dunes and the sea in blue and sand-colored shades with drawings of fish, sharks and dolphins. And the climbing frame is naturally shaped like a ship. The space is divided into 3 - first a small area with a sandbox, playhouse and slide for the little ones, then a larger area with both a climbing frame, teeter-totter, trampolines, hammock, balance beam etc. for the older children and finally a skating rink, exercise equipment and a module for parkour .
There are tables/bench sets.
The square, which is very well-visited, has been built partly through sponsorships but also through donations from ordinary citizens of Skagen and was inaugurated in Skagen's 600th anniversary year as a market town in 2013, in connection with the annual children's culture festival.
