Frederikshavn Blues Festival
On November 1-2, 2019, you can experience the Frederikshavn Blues Festival, which is one of the most prestigious and respected blues and soul festivals in Europe. It attracts audiences from both Denmark and abroad.
Stay well at Skagen Strand holiday center. It only takes 25 minutes by train to Frederikshavn, and the station is right outside our front door.
The festival started in 2006 and has featured many big names over the years. Past performers include Jeremy Spencer (2006), Sherman Robertson (2006 and 2009), Johnny Winter (2007), Walter Trout (2007), Gary Moore (2008), Dr. John (2008), Peter Green (2009), Louisiana Red (2010), Ronnie Baker Brooks (2010) and Imelda May (2010).
Last year there were audiences from 17 different countries and the festival has received several awards, including:
- International Festival of the Year 2018 – Zicazic, France
- Voted the 2nd Best Festival in the World 2018 by the readers of the Polish magazine Twój Blues.
In this 14th edition of the festival, there are as usual world-class bands on the program. We can mention Curtis Slagado, Nick Moss Band and Tad Robinson feat. Alex Schultz. It will be a weekend with many fantastic musical experiences in Arena Nord.
